DPW restructures in wake of retirements
Shawano’s Department of Public Works is making the most of two high-level staff retirements with a restructuring of duties and job titles expected to make the department a little more efficient. Operations Manager Jim Schoenhofen retired last month and Water and Sewer Superintendent Jim Flaig will retire as of March 13.

Four Bonduel wrestlers still alive at state
Bonduel High School will enter day two of the WIAA Individual Wrestling Championship Tournament in Madison with four of its five wrestlers still in the running for state titles. The Bears qualified five wrestlers for the Division 3 state finals, with four opening their tourney run Thursday at the Kohl Center. Dennis Hodkiewicz Sr.
Dennis James Hodkiewicz Sr., Shawano, 64, passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015. He was born Dec. 26, 1950, to the late John and Agnes Hodkiewicz. Dennis attended school in the Pulaski area. On Oct. 5, 1974, he married Sharon Norton. In 2003, Dennis took Sharon on a second honeymoon to Poland and Germany.
Paul Diers
Paul Diers, 49, Birnamwood, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at his home. He was born on Nov. 4, 1965, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Robert and Glarus (Tourtillotte) Diers. Paul worked at North Central Health Care Center in Wausau for a number of years. He also worked as a bartender at numerous places, including Sunset Grill and Wisconsin House Inn in Shawano. Paul enjoyed fishing, reading, shooting pool and spending time with friends.
