An elderly Tigerton woman who went missing Tuesday afternoon was found safe and in good health in Forest County, the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday. Edward L. “Pete” Pleshek, 80, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2015, surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer. Pete was born on Sept. 1, 1934, to the late Edward and Irene (Bartline) Pleshek. Pete graduated from Shawano High School in the Class of 1953. Shortly thereafter he began his career as a meat cutter at Leibman’s in Green Bay. He worked there for nearly 18 years until they closed their doors.

Shawano County officials are moving forward with structural changes in how the county plans and manages its $59-million-a-year budget.
