Rosella Mae “Rose” Schaaf, 73, of Bowler, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015. Rose was born on June 7, 1942, in Keshena, the daughter of Gretta (Tousey) Jacobs and the late Howard Jacobs. In 1979, Rose was united in marriage to Frank Schaaf. Frank preceded her in death in 1995. She enjoyed golf, bowling, and watching all sports on television. She and her husband traveled by motorcycle throughout most of the United States and Canada.

Donna Mae Miesbauer, 87, of Shawano, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 1, 2015, at Bellin Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born March 14, 1928, in Rhinelander, daughter of the late OsBert and Mame (Behrend) Shipman. She attended the Rhinelander schools, graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1946. On Oct. 18, 1947, Donna was united in marriage to John J. Miesbauer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rhinelander.

The Shawano School Board approved a proposal this week that is expected to attract and retain middle school and high school athletic coaches. The board unanimously endorsed increasing the starting pay for most coaches as outlined by Shawano Community High School athletic/activities director Charmaine Schreiber.
