Josephine M. Ludvigsen, 84, of the town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 4, 2015, at American Grand Assisted Living in Kaukauna. Josephine was born on March 6, 1931, in Belle Plaine as the daughter of the late Harold and Rose (Reetz) Carlson. She was raised in the town of Wescott, Shawano County, and graduated from Shawano High School in 1949. On Feb. 13, 1951, Josephine was united in marriage to James C.

Reports of possible shotgun blasts at a residence in the city early Monday turned out to have been fireworks, police learned once they were able to search the home. Police Chief Mark Kohl said officers found debris from ignited and exploded fireworks but no weapons.

Leonard William Giese, 88, of Gillett, passed away on Dec. 1, 2015, in Gillett. Leonard was born on Jan. 21, 1927, in Hayes, the son of the late Harry A. and Louise (Buhrandt) Giese. Leonard entered the Army at 18 years old and was able to travel all over the United States.
