Waiting with anticipation to be reunited with twin orphans

Anguish flooded my heart as my brain registered what I saw. There, on the road just past our driveway, lay my sweet kitty, Fred. Lifeless.

My husband and I were on our four-wheeler, and immediately I felt the need to get Fred off the road.

“Let’s go back and get a guinea sack,” my husband suggested quietly.

Thomas Pues

Thomas James Pues, 66, of Navarino, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026, after a short battle with cancer.

Born on Nov. 19, 1959, to James Harley Pues and Mildred “Midge” Edith (Schinke) Pues, Tom was the first of their children. Tom was born a hunter, making his debut during Wisconsin’s 1959 gun deer season.

Christine ‘Chris’ Schenkoski

Christine “Chris” Schenkoski, 73, of Abrams, passed away at home June 19, 2026. She was born Sept. 7, 1952, in Oconto Falls to the late Donald and Mary (Machurick) McDermid.
