Bonduel is perfect in Packerland

Oct. 18 Bonduel 48, Sturgeon Bay 20 Bonduel went undefeated in the Packerland Conference following their 48-20 win over Sturgeon Bay. The Bears ended the regular season at 7-0 in league play and 8-1 overall. With a 7-0 lead after the first quarter, Bonduel broke the game open with a 28-point second quarter to take a 35-7 lead at the half.
Pulaski soccer team shuts out De Pere
Pulaski 4, De Pere 0 Pulaski ended its regular season with a 4-0 shutout of De Pere to conclude with a 4-4-1 mark in the Fox River Classic Conference. Hudson Schultz connected on two of the goals for the Red Raiders, while Tate Gerth and Maddox McKeefry each had one. Assists were credited to Colin Tackmeier, Gerth, Deegan Lambert and Parker Sanders. Josh Roth played 60 minutes in the goal and had five saves.
Shawano soccer team breaks into state’s top 10
Shawano’s boys soccer team is ranked No. 8 in Division 3 in Wisconsin, according to the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association. The Hawks posted an 11-5-2 record to earn the distinction. Oct. 15 Green Bay Preble 5, Pulaski 1 The Red Raiders fell to the Hornets in Fox River Classic Conference play 5-1. The game featured three goals in the first 11 minutes. Talan Lecaptaine got Preble on the board with a goal in the fifth minute.
Gresham volleyball team tops Bowler in five sets
Oct. 15 West De Pere 3, Shawano 2 The Shawano Hawks played against a tough West De Pere squad in the final game of conference play but came up short 3-2. The Hawks had been battling some illness since the weekend but still showed up to play extremely well.

I finally took the time to read one of L.A. Dobbs’ Sam Mason K-9 mysteries. “Seeking Justice” is the seventh book in the popular series. It took a few chapters, but I discovered that Police Sgt. Jo Harris moved to White Rock, North Carolina, to follow a lead in the long-ago disappearance of her 4-year-old sister, Tammy. After years of drug abuse and living on the streets, Jo’s sister, Bridget, is finally clean and has moved in with Jo.

Brandon and Brittany Wudstrack, of the Town of Wittenberg, announce the birth of a son, Braxton Riley, born Oct. 11, 2024, as Aspirus Wausau. He weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and was 18½ inches long.
American Legion holding another poultry shoot
The next American Legion Gunless Poultry Shoot begins at 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at School House Bar, 14007 State Highway 32, Mountain. The Legion will raffle off packages of meat, poultry, sausages, bacon, beverages and items donated by local businesses. There will also be 50/50 and basket raffles.
City attorney pleads no contest to misdemeanors
A felony case against the Oconto city attorney involving target practice gone wrong has been resolved with no contest pleas to two misdemeanor charges. According to Oconto County Circuit Court online records, Frank M. Calvert, 63, pleaded no contest Oct. 15 to two counts of endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.
Gillett SRO approval delayed
The Gillett Public School District will have to wait a little longer for a school resource officer (SRO) to be posted at the district’s schools to interact with students. The district has been working with Sheriff Todd Skarban to negotiate an agreement for the county to provide the officer on a cost-share measure, similar to the agreement currently in place with the Suring Area Public School District.
