Ron Waukau, forest manager, accepted the 2024 Connor Award for distinguished service by an organization from the Wisconsin Forest History Association of Wisconsin at its fall conference held Oct. 11-12 in Keshena. The Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin is known nationally for the character and condition of its forest.

Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoe box project is well underway at Grace Lutheran Church, 501 S. Main St., Oconto Falls. This year-round project is an effective means of sharing the gospel with children and their families around the world. In November 2023, 1,005 shoe boxes were collected and shipped from this area. There is still time to drop off donations at the church.
