Commission OKs permit for graphics company

Rogue Graphx received a favorable recommendation Oct. 30 from the Shawano Plan Commission to add a new building to the existing property at 814 Waukechon St. Jarrett Bryzek, the owner for Rogue Graphx, is going through the process of getting a conditional use permit for the new building, which is required in any areas zoned as light industrial. The new building is considered to be a group development under the city code, which requires a permit.

Santa making plans to ride in Shawano parade

Witt-Birn’s school taxes to drop 71 cents in 2025
The tax rate for the Wittenberg-Birnamwood School District will be dropping 71 cents as the school board signed off on a $15.7 million budget on Oct. 28. The current tax rate is $7.29 per $1,000 of equalized valuation, which means the owner of property worth $200,000 can expect to pay $1,458 in school taxes for this year. The district originally thought that the rate was going to drop to $6.95 at its annual meeting in August.
Shawano School Board adopts budget, levy
An easygoing annual meeting for the Shawano School District on Oct. 28 resulted in dual resolutions adopting a budget and tax levy for 2024-25.
