Hawks top New London The Shawano Community High School volleyball team beat New London in four sets Thursday in Shawano. The Hawks (1-2 Bay) beat Bay Conference foe New London (1-1) 25-12, 22-25, 25-18, 25-12. Bella Gonzalez and Erika Dunnam led Shawano in kills with seven each. Dunnam had six blocks. Annelies Young had 16 assists, three service aces and nine digs.

The Bonduel High School girls golf team finished seventh at the Eastern Valley Conference meet Wednesday at Wander Springs Golf Course in Greenleaf. The Bears finished the season sixth in the conference. Taylor Diemel led Bonduel with a round of 107. Elizabeth Schaal shot a 118, Samantha Schaal 132 and Danielle Lautenbach 138. The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department will get 50 new radios to replace models made obsolete by the county’s new simulcast system. Kenneth E. Weso Sr., 71 of Menominee County, started his journey home on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013. Kenneth was born Oct. 21, 1941, in Keshena, a son of the late Ellis and Margaret (Whitefish) Weso.
