Paul Mogged was re-elected to a five-year term on the Oconto Falls Water and Light Commission, by a 3-1 vote of the City Council on April 15.
Mogged, commissioner since 2006, was nominated by Alderman Marty Coopman, the City Council representative on the commission.
City Council members Don Osborne, George Stucky and Coopman voted yes to the appointment. Kevin Rusch, who nominated Lawrence Kindel for the position, voted no. Alderman Jay Kostreva abstained, and Mat McDermid was excused from the meeting.
Mogged’s five-year term begins in October. From 2006-2009, Mogged was the City Council representative on the commission, and after leaving the council, was appointed as a resident representative for a five-year term, from 2009-2014.
Others applying for the position were Barton Schindel and Sandra Wellens. Each submitted a letter of interest.
The commission, which includes four residents and an alderperson, meets monthly and is involved in the decision making for Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities.
