Families can find out if their family heirlooms are really worth anything at an “Antiques Roadshow”-style event Sunday, Aug. 3.
Mark Moran, of Iola, will appraise items from 1-5 p.m. at the Red Maple Golf Club in Suring. Moran is the author of more than 25 books on antiques and collectibles.
Registration and prepayment are required; to schedule a 4-minute appointment, call 920-842-2442. The appraisal fee is $15 per item, and a portion of the fee will benefit the Friends of the Suring Area Public Library.
Items accepted for appraisal are fine art, furniture, ceramics, glassware, metalware, advertising, folk art, toys, clocks, pocket watches, wristwatches, old books, costume jewelry, vintage photographs and musical instruments.
Excluded from this event are all weapons, varmint traps, fine jewelry and precious gems, coins, currency, Beanie Babies and Nazi memorabilia.
Spectators are invited to watch this event for a $3 fee at the door.
