Pulaski tennis team goes 3-1 in Wausau

May 2-3 Pulaski’s tennis team captured several victories at Wausau. West, going 3-1 in match play. Pulaski 5, Wausau East 2 The Red Raiders won all four singles matches and the No. 1 doubles contest in a 5-2 win over Wausau East. Justin Fraedrich won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Nathan Maroszek shut out his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot. Mikel Iglesias-Mino won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3, and Lucas Ford won 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 4 flight. Oscar Delmarcelle and Jonah Drevs were victorious in the No. 1 doubles match, winning 6-3, 6-2. Pulaski’s losses were from Zachary Schmidt and Simon Banaszynski at No. 2 doubles (6-0, 6-1), and Ben Bruecker and Mace Breitenfeldt at No. 3 (6-0, 6-0). Menomonie 6, Pulaski 1 The Red Raiders ran into stiff competition against Menomonie, escaping with only one win. Iglesias-Mino won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Maroszek lost a tough battle at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 7-6 (5). Fraedrich and Ford lost their singles matches, too. Losing in doubles action were Delmarcelle and Drevs, Schmidt and Liam Ford, and Bruecker and Breitenfeldt. Pulaski 5, Wausau West 2 Fraedrich, Maroszek, Iglesias-Mino and Drevs had little trouble winning their singles matches in a 5-2 win over Wausau West. Fraedrich only gave up two games, Maroszek and Iglesias-Mino each lost one, and Drevs shut out his opponent. At. No. 3 doubles, Conrad Kreutzberg and Jakob Malchow won in a tiebreaker 6-4, 7-6 (2). At No. 1, Ryan Symons and Henry Piczkowski lost a close contest, 6-3, 6-7 (4), 10-5. Delmarcelle and Jeffrey Sanders lost at No. 2. Pulaski 5, Rhinelander 2 The two-day event opened with a 5-2 win over Rhinelander. Fraedrich, Maroszek and Iglesias-Mino won in singles action, with Kreutzberg taking the only loss. Winning at No. 2 doubles were Delmarcelle and Drevs 6-2, 6-4. The No. 3 match was won by Sanders and Riley Crocker, 7-5, 6-4. Symons and Piczkowski lost 6-3, 3-6, 13-11 at No. 1 doubles. May 1 Pulaski 4, Bay Port 3 Even before the weekend began, Pulaski was on a winning streak, defeating Bay Port 4-3. The Red Raiders won a pair of singles matches and a pair of doubles. Fraedrich lost 6-1, 7-5 in the top singles match, but No. 2 Maroszek won in a two-set shutout. Iglesias-Mino was victorious at No. 3, while Kreutzberg lost at No. 4. In doubles play, Symons and Piczkowski lost 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 1 slot. Delmarcelle and Drevs won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2, and Sanders and Crocker won 7-5, 2-6, 11-9 at No. 3.
