Chargers shut out Eagles on baseball diamond

May 3 Fox Valley Lutheran 1, Oconto Falls 0 Oconto Falls 5, Fox Valley Lutheran 2 The Panthers lost the opening game of a doubleheader against Fox Valley Lutheran 1-0 but came back in the second game to win 5-2. In the first game, Trace Brehmer hit 1-for-3 for Oconto Falls. Carter Heroux was the losing pitcher. In five innings, he allowed one hit and one run, walked four and struck out four. In the second game, Wyatt Laughrin hit 3-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI. Luke Gilbertston was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, and Jack Adler hit 2-for-3 with one RBI. Adler was also the winning pitcher. In seven innings, he gave up three hits and two runs (one earned), walked three and struck out four. Oconto 5, Bonduel 0 Bonduel traveled to Oconto for a nonconference showdown and returned home after a 5-0 loss. Riley Susa shut down the Bears on two hits in the shutout. Joe Felhoer and Cade Johnson had the only hits for Bonduel. Ethan Wusterbarth homered and drove in two runs for the Blue Devils. Mason Zuleger took the loss. Green Bay Southwest 9, Lena 2 The Wildcats suffered their second loss of the season, a 9-2 defeat at the hands of Green Bay Southwest in a nonconference game. May 2 Lena 9, Niagara 1 Lena remained unbeaten in the Marinette and Oconto Conference with a 9-1 over Niagara. The Wildcats are 6-0 in league play. Wittenberg-Birnamwood 10, Menominee Nation 0 The Chargers remain at the top of the CWC East with a 6-1 record after shutting out Menominee Nation 10-0. The Eagles are 1-4 in conference play. Iola-Scandinavia 3, Bonduel 0 Bonduel traveled to Iola for a conference game against Iola-Scandinavia. The Bears came out on the short end, losing 3-0. Beckett Hartlaben took the loss, and Wyatt Wolcott got the win for the T-Birds. Aiden Hillsberg, Kody Schroeder and Jack Zernicke had the hits for Bonduel. Wausaukee 9, Gillett/Suring 2 Wausaukee earned its first Marinette & Oconto Conference victory with a 9-2 win over Gillett/Suring at Gillett. Wausaukee is 1-6, and Gillett/Suring is 2-6. Appleton East 4, Pulaski 1 The Red Raiders are 10-4 overall following a 4-1 nonconference loss to Appleton East. Rosholt 7, Marion 2 Marion fell to 2-9 overall after a 7-2 nonconference loss to Rosholt. Notre Dame 11, Shawano 10 After beating New London twice earlier in the week, Shawano came up one run short in an 11-10 loss to Notre Dame.
