Bonduel’s Fischer wins medalist honors

April 29 CWC Mini-Meet #2 Bonduel’s Colin Fischer earned medalist honors as his team placed second at Pine Hills Golf Course in Gresham. Amherst won the meet with a 343, followed by Bonduel’s 352. Marion placed fourth with a 375, and Wittenberg-Birnamwood was fifth with a 386. Menominee Nation/Gresham finished 10th out of the 10 teams with a 427. “We lost ground today to the top teams in the conference, but with two more conference legs left, we are still in a position to finish in the top in the conference,” Wittenberg-Birnamwood coach Chris Bartletti said. “We had a good front nine, but the back nine was our undoing. We just can’t seem to avoid big numbers on some holes, which makes it difficult to post decent scores.” Joining Fischer were Jaxon Bogacz with an 84, Cameron Schroeder with a 90 and Cole Westphal with a 98. Ethan Schauder carded a 127. Elijah Schema led the Mustangs with an 85. He was followed by Brady Malueg with an 89, Collin Grogan with a 98 and Jarren Faehling with a 103. James Nolan carded a 112. The Chargers were led by George Seegmiller’s 91. He was joined by Jaden Clark with a 92, Nicholas Flak with a 100 and Roman Johnson with a 103. Luca Pelusi carded a 112. Menominee Nation/Gresham was led by Anikohsaeh Corn with a 93. Joining him were Elliott Penass with a 94, King Lyons with a 99 and Holly Brady with a 141. Kayena Kimble-Tomow carded a 169. “We have a lot of golf left, and we will really try to work on course management and other things that can help us to avoid the blowups that keep us from being competitive,” Bartletti said. Bay Conference Mini-Meet #4 Shawano golfers posted a 202 among the six teams competing at Ledgeview Golf Course in De Pere. The Hawks were led by Blake Knope’s 45. Also scoring for Shawano were Terrance Smith and Jakob Stuhr, each with a 48, and Duane Gristeau-Blanche with a 61. Brayden Mead carded a 63.
