Adkins honored as Bonduel parade marshal

Dianne Adkins is the parade marshal for the Bonduel Independence Day parade, announced Celebrate Bonduel.

Dianne Karla Stuewer made her entrance into the world Feb. 1, 1940 — born in a 1936 Chevrolet on the way to Green Bay from her family’s farm, 5 miles south of Bonduel near Landstad.

Delinquent taxpayers to be hit with new penalty

Shawano County delinquent taxpayers will soon be assessed a new penalty on their back taxes.

Members of the executive committee gave the green light to Emily Kazik, county treasurer, to help prepare an ordinance that will assess a 0.5% monthly penalty on all back taxes going back the last decade. It is anticipated the penalty will go into effect Jan. 1, 2027.

Local students win statewide FFA contests

Paige Wolf of the Bonduel FFA Chapter was named the state winner of the FFA Extemporaneous Public Speaking Leadership Development Event (LDE). The Extemporaneous Public Speaking LDE was held at the 97th State Convention of the Wisconsin Association of FFA in Madison. Wolf’s adviser is Mandi McClone.

CMN benefits from continued gifts from Fowler

The College of Menominee Nation was recently made aware that it has been included in the wishes of Verna Fowler’s estate. The educational institution she founded has become one of the thriving 35 Tribal Colleges throughout the United States. In her final wishes, she took the time to ensure the continued framework of support for students pursuing their dreams.

Construction underway on Highway 47/55 in Menominee County

As of June 22, state Highway 47 in Menominee County was closed to through traffic from County Road VV (West) to the Langlade County line. The closure is anticipated to continue until the middle of August. Northeast Asphalt held an informational meeting on the project June 23 at the Wolf River Development Company, W2828 Go Around Road, Keshena.

Access by local traffic and emergency services will be maintained throughout the closure.

Wimberger receives WCA Outstanding Legislator Award

State Sen. Eric Wimberger (R-Gillett) has been honored by the Wisconsin Counties Association with a WCA Outstanding Legislator Award for his work on behalf of county government during the 2025-26 Legislative Session.
