• Ramon Mack Guillory, 39, a Menominee, Michigan, man serving a sentence at Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, had his probation revoked Aug. 4 from a 2023 conviction for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fourth offense)and with a prohibited alcohol content. Judge Jay Conley sentenced him Sept. 21 to an additional year in prison followed by an additional year of extended supervision with conditions.

It won’t be long before the leaf vacuums will be roaming the streets of Shawano and collecting residents’ yard waste.

The Bonduel Village Board isn’t ready to sign on with the Shawano County Humane Society’s proposal that would require municipalities to chip in for the care of stray cats and dogs. Trustees have questions about how the village would be billed and whether the animals are from the village itself or the surrounding towns.

By a vote of 22-4, Shawano County supervisors agreed Sept. 23 to borrow $29 million for the first phase of what is expected to be a $121 million courthouse and jail project.

Supervisors Jeremy Gretzinger, Katharine Jacob, Curt Korth and Joe Miller opposed the borrowing. Supervisor Kimberly Leffel was absent.
