Angeline Cora Marquardt, 91, of Shawano, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Shawano Medical Center surrounded by her family. Born on Dec. 1, 1922, in Deansville, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Helena (Veith) Skalitzky.
After graduating from high school, Angie worked for Wallrich Lumber. On April 17, 1943, she was united in marriage to Milton Marquardt in Shawano. The couple celebrated 65 years together before Milton’s death on Feb. 4, 2009. After marriage, Angie took great pride in being a wife and stay-at-home mother to her beloved children. Once the children were grown, Angie went back to work at Ben’s Dry Cleaning and later as a sales clerk for Spurgeon’s. When not working, she enjoyed doing needlework, putting together jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and watching and feeding the birds. She also loved collecting angels. Angie was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano.
Angie is survived by her five children, Milton (Janice) Marquardt Jr., of Shawano, Bonnie (Jerry) Roloff, of Shawano, Nancy (Jim) Seehafer, of Shawano, Sally Marquardt, of Shawano, Dan (fiancée, Jamie Cole) Marquardt, of Sweeny, Texas; nine grandchildren, Milton (Mary) Marquardt III, Nikol (David) VanGrinsven, Melissa Marquardt, Tomina (special friend, Scott) Marquardt, Tim (Maria) Roloff, Scott (Cindy) Roloff, Craig (special friend, Kaija) Roloff, Heather (Troy) Passehl, Stacey (Ben) Dickmann; and eight great-grandchildren, Alison, Harrison, Stella, Grace, Ginger, Logan, Ryan and Cora.
Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Milton, her parents, seven brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with the Rev. Luke Ferris officiating. Entombment will be in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Sunday from 4 p.m. until the parish wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
