AROUND THE COMMUNITY: ‘The Foreigner’ comes to Abrams theater
Being mistaken as a foreigner leads to funny, unpredictable outcomes in “The Foreigner.” Tickets are on sale now for the Abrams Spotlight Productions show to be presented June 16-19 and June 23-26 at the Nancy Byng Community Theater, 5852 Maple St., Abrams. Tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and children ages 5-17, and $8 for children ages 4 and under. All performances begin at 7 p.m.
Club Notes: Shawano Area Writers
Shawano Area Writers met May 19 in the Elsie Engel Room at the Shawano Public Library. There were six members present: John Mutter, Tom Thorstenson, Svitlana Podgoma, Barb King, Marilyn Kroenke and Wendy Goerl. President Tom Thorstenson called the meeting to order. Minutes were approved. John Mutter presented the treasurer’s report. In new business, discussion was held on what could be improved for the student writing contest.
CLUB NOTES: Lena Lions
The Lena Lions Club honored Alexandra Kristof, daughter of Dave and Missy Kristof, as the Lions Student of the Month for May. Kristof is a senior at Lena High School where she participates in volleyball, track and held the position of basketball manager. She is a member of the Lena High School band and yearbook staff.
