Bonduel golfers honored for academics

The Bonduel girls golf team was recognized for their work in the classroom while also participating in the 2025 WIAA girls golf season.

The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin awarded the girls the Team Academic All-State Award.

Weier’s walkoff grand slam gives Bonduel 7-3 win over Hortonville

Two days after coming up short in their own invitational baseball tournament, the Bonduel Broncos picked up a 7-3 Dairyland League win.

The Broncos hosted Hortonville on July 12 at Jack Reinke Field and handed the Stars a loss while improving to 10-1 in league play.

Grand slam helps Antigo/Polar top Birnamwood

A home field advantage didn’t help the Birnamwood Kings on July 10 in their Badger Amateur Baseball Association North Division matchup with Antigo/Polar.

Brady Renfro’s four hits — including a grand slam — helped the Bears pick up a 14-4 win in Birnamwood.

Hall of Fame members honored at speedway

The three newest Shawano Speedway Hall of Fame members were honored July 11 at the racetrack.

Inductees in 2026 were Willard Raddant, LeRoy Raddant and Mike Schmelzer. Also, the Vandenlangenberg family was honored as a Hall of Fame Contributor.

Marcus Yarie, of Wausau, started on the pole in the IMCA modifieds 20-lap feature race and went on to win July 11 at the Shawano Speedway.

Conservation Congress seeks resolutions

The Wisconsin Conservation Congress is asking Wisconsin residents to submit proposed resolutions for the 2027 spring hearings.

The WCC is an independent organization of residents that advises the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources on how to responsibly manage Wisconsin’s natural resources.

BABA Hall of Fame & Museum receives nonprofit status

The BABA Hall of Fame & Museum Inc. has officially received recognition as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization from the Internal Revenue Service, marking an important milestone in preserving and celebrating the history of amateur baseball throughout BABA communities.

Menominee cruises in 15-1 BABA win over Shawano

Menominee handed Shawano a 15-1 loss July 5 in a BABA East Division game in Keshena.

Mitchell VandeWalle, Pete O’Kimosh and Kristoffer Kallies each had three hits in the Indians’ win over the Lakers in Keshena.

Garrett Kadonsky, Ryan Pensis and Lowell Chevalier each had a hit for Shawano.
