The Cougars won the first game 25-22, but the Wildcats tied the match a 1-1 with a 25-20 win the second game. Coleman won the last two contests 29-27 and 25-23 to claim the conference victory.

Suring Eagles Invite

Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy’s Aspynn Anderson won the girls race in 21:17 and led her team to a first-place finish among three teams.

Lena/STAA collected 28 points. Among the three boys teams, Lena/STAA was third with 50 points.

Notre Dame 2, Pulaski 0

The Tritons topped the Red Raiders in conference play 2-0.

Oakley Prosser got the first-half goal for Notre Dame in the 37th minute. Jayden Flegel assisted Jack Thomson to put the Tritons up 2-0 in the second half.

Monday, Oct. 5

Division 2

Oconto Falls sophomore Riley Borkovec was one of four players who carded an 89 at the WIAA Division 2 Wrightstown Sectional at Hilly Haven Golf Course in De Pere.

Qualifying for the state meet as teams were Seymour and Lake Country Lutheran (Hartland). Individual qualifiers were from Wrightstown, Kiel and Amherst.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood had three girls place in the top 10 and Bonduel had two as the Chargers won the invite hosted by Rosholt High School.

The Chargers collected 49 points to lead the 10-team field. The Bears were sixth with 126.
