Shawano, Oconto Falls runners win gold medals at conference meets

Members of the Oconto Falls girls track team won three gold medals on their own track.

In the high jump, Calli Bursa led all competitors at 4-8. Teammates Nyah Gardebrecht placed third, and Alexandria Braund was fourth.

Gardebrecht won the triple jump at 29-0.75. Katie Moody placed third, and Kiley Knitter finished sixth.

Northeastern Conference Mini-Meet #3

Oconto Falls played third with a 328, just five strokes in back of Denmark’s winning score, at Northbrook Golf & Grill in Luxemburg.

Dylan Clark’s 74 was three strokes off the medalist score of 71. Carson McDermid scored 80, Brock McDermid scored 83, and Braden Holl had a 91.

Austin Anderson carded a 106.

Pulaski soccer team shuts out Ashwaubenon

Pulaski 2, Ashwaubenon 0

Pulaski improved to 3-1-1 with a 2-0 home victory over Ashwaubenon.

Ruth Krause scored first for the Red Raiders with an assist by Anya Hasser. Maggie Gumina was unassisted on the second goal.

Goalkeepers Tatum Wentland and Lucia Di Gennaro each recorded no saves as there were no shots on goal for the Jaguars.

Pulaski beats Manitowoc Lincoln on tennis courts

Pulaski 4, Manitowoc Lincoln 3

Pulaski edged Manitowoc Lincoln 4-3, winning twice in singles and twice in doubles.

At No. 1 singles, Oriol Capella Rodon defeated Isiah Moua 6-4, 6-3, and at No. 4 singles, Thomas Glinski won by default 2-0, 2-0.

The Red Raiders won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

Bears take second at pre-conference track meet

CWC Pre-Conference Meet

Bonduel’s boys and girls track teams placed second in Manawa with 108 and 101 points, respectively.

The Wittenberg-Birnamwood boys were fourth with 74, and Menominee Nation was ninth with 22.

The Chargers girls placed sixth with 50 points, and the Eagles were ninth with 24.5.

Hawks tennis team shuts out Red Devils

Shawano 7, Green Bay East 0

The Hawks clamped down on the Red Devils, shutting them out 7-0.

Shawano is now 6-6.

Eagles come from behind to beat Mustangs

Menominee Nation 14, Marion 9

Trailing 7-3 after four innings, Menominee Nation went on a tear an scored 11 runs in the final three innings en route to a 14-9 win over Marion.

CJ Pyawasay Anikosaeh Corn each had two hits for the Eagles, and Kyle Pecore, Caleb Grignon and Craig Penass each had two RBIs.

Both of Pyawasay’s hits were doubles.
