Floodwaters should increase turkey hunting success

In about 60 years of hunting, I’ve read a lot of articles around deer, small game, upland bird, predator and turkey hunting. It’s hard for magazines to come up with something truly new to say about hunting anything, although I keep buying them. You probably do, too.

Pulaski goalkeeper Lucia Di Gennaro had eight saves against Kimberly, but it wasn’t enough as the Red Raiders ended up on the short end of a 3-1 score.

Scoring Pulaski’s only goal was Ruth Kruase, with an assist by Leah Grygiel.

The Red Raiders fall to 3-2-1.

Pirates tennis team shuts out Red Raiders

Bay Port 7, Pulaski 0

Pulaski tennis players were shut out 7-0 at Bay Port.

Coming up short in singles play were Oriol Capella Rodon, Jonah Drevs, Aaron Trijueque Ruiz and Liam Ford.

Playing doubles for the Red Raiders were Oscar Delmarcelle and Lucas Ford, William Gosse and Conrad Kreutzberg, Simon Banaszynski and Mahmoud Hassan.

Four area students named WIAA Scholar Athletes

From a pool of more than 724 nominated seniors across 379 Wisconsin high schools, just 32 have earned the distinction of the WIAA’s Scholar Athlete Finalist for 2026.

Sixteen senior girls and 16 senior boys — including two from Bonduel, one from Wittenberg-Birnamwood and one from Gillett — have been selected to receive the award, presented by We Energies Foundation and Wisconsin Public Service Foundation.

Shawano boys, girls basketball coaches won’t be back next season

Both the boys and girls basketball teams at Shawano Community High School will have new coaches next season.

Kayla Brendemuehl, activities and athletics director, sent letters to players and families in April announcing the changes.

Girls coach Ryan Koenig announced that he is resigning after 14 seasons.

Errors don’t stop Eagles from winning

Tigerton 11, Green Bay NEW Lutheran 0

Danika Tiller, Hailey Erdmann and Lillian Welch each collected two hits in Tigerton’s 11-0 win over Green Bay NEW Lutheran.

Erdmann had four RBIs, and Renata Nordwig and Welch each had double.

Tiller pitched all five innings and allowed one hit while walking three and striking out 12.

Panthers win 1-0 over Comets

Oconto Falls 1, Waupaca 0

Logan Berg had a hit and Teagan Tate had the RBI in the 1-0 win for the Panthers over the Comets.

Tate pitched all seven innings, striking out six along the way.

Bonduel 11, Southern Door 1

Joe Felhofer hit 3-for-4 with five RBIs, one run scored and one stolen base as Bonduel stomped Southern Door 11-1.
