Panthers pile on the points in home win over Coleman

Six days after Freedom dropped 100 points on the Oconto Falls boys basketball team, the Panthers had a chance to do the same in their next time on the court.

They came up just short but were able to pick up a 93-32 nonconference win over Coleman on Feb. 12 at Oconto Falls High School.

Beyer, Nordin lead Shawano girls past Menasha

Shawano 52, Menasha 45

The Hawks grabbed an early lead and never relinquished it behind Maci Beyer’s four first half 3-pointers as Shawano defeated Menasha 52-45.

Leah Nordin led the Hawks with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Nordin now has 998 career rebounds leaving her two shy of the 1,000 milestone.

Panthers heading into home stretch on a roll

Talk about a turnaround.

After the Oconto Falls girls basketball team dropped seven of eight games to North Eastern Conference opponents in the first half of the season, the Panthers have now won five of their last six NEC games, including a 49-40 victory over Waupaca on Feb. 12.

Tigerton boys clobber White Lake

Tigerton 88, White Lake 24

White Lake scored the first basket of the game, but that ended up being the highlight for the Lakers, as Tigerton hit the gas and never let up en route to an 88-24 conference win.

Tigerton dominated in all aspects of the game, taking a 47-13 halftime lead and outscoring the visitors 41-11 in the second half.

Lena girls beat Oneida Nation

Lena 48, Oneida Nation 34

Lena and Crivitz sat atop the Marinette & Oconto Conference with identical 13-1 records after the Wildcats defeated Oneida Nation 48-34.

Lena is 20-2 overall.

Novy scores four goals in Red Robins win over Pacelli

Thursday, Feb. 12

Antigo 6, Pacelli 3

Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Ethan Novy scored four of the Red Robins’ six goals as Antigo’s boys hockey team defeated Pacelli 6-3 in Antigo.

The Red Robins scored three goals in the first period, the first by Sheppard Snider at 10:40 with help from Billy Portman. Novy scored at 14:01 with an Alex Brittenham assist, and Liam Burt scored at 16:59.
