Shawano soccer season ends against Sheboygan Falls

June 5 Sheboygan Falls 9, Shawano 1 Shawano’s soccer team watched their playoff chances slowly fall by the wayside as Sheboygan Falls worked its way to a 9-1 victory in a WIAA Division 3 regional game. Sheboygan Falls held a 5-1 lead after the first half and scored another four goals after the intermission. Shawano ended the regular season at 4-4-2 for firth place in the Bay Conference and 7-11-3 overall.
All-star softball player
Shawano’s Ella Stuber has been selected by high school coaches to play in the North-South all-star softball game to be held in the Wisconsin Dells on June 17. She is going to pursue her softball career at UW-River Falls, with plans to major in speech pathology. She is the daughter of Jenny and Tony Stuber.
Bonduel, Witt-Birn to play for regional baseball title
June 4 Seymour 3, Shawano 1 Shawano lost 3-1 to Seymour in a WIAA Division 2 regional playoff game postponed one day due to rain. The Hawks, 13-9 overall, ended the season in third place in the Bay Conference with an 11-7 record. Bonduel 6, Coleman 2 Bonduel started its Division 3 regional game with back-to-back singles by Cade Johnson and Race Anvelink.
Bears get shut out in softball sectional final
June 4 Manawa 3, Bonduel 0 In a game delayed a day due to rain, Bonduel’s softball team was shut out 3-0 by Manawa in the Division 3 sectional final. Manawa earned a trip to state with the win. The Bears finished the season in second place in the CWC East with an 11-3 record, a game behind Manawa at 12-2.
Pulaski soccer advances to regional title game
June 3 Pulaski 6, Menasha 0 The No. 4 seed Red Raiders shut out No. 13 seed Menasha 6-0 in the opening round of WIAA regional soccer action. Pulaski advanced to the June 7 regional title game and will host No. 5 seed West De Pere at 1 p.m.
Neopit picks up BABA road win over Clintonville
East/West Division June 1 Caroline 9, Tilleda 2 Jared Cartwright, Cole Rosenow and Kade Rosenow each had two hits to help lead the Cougars over the Woodchucks in a matchup of BABA East/West Division teams. Klay Barkow struck out six batters over five innings while picking up the win on the mound and Zach Fehrman took the loss.
Navarino baseball field to be renamed for Conradt
June 1 Navarino at Cecil No results were available from the Rangers’ trip to Cecil to face the Mudhens. The Navarino Ranger Athletic Association will hold a ceremony June 8 and rename the Rangers’ field in memory of the late Kevin “Covey” Conradt. The ceremony is set for 1 p.m. before the Rangers host the Bonduel Broncos at 1:30 p.m.
