Shawano native Anna Etten has been named the new manager for the SAM25 Free Health Clinic.
Etten recently graduated summa cum laudefrom St. Norbert College with a bachelor of science degree in biology, concentrating in biomedical sciences, along with a minor in chemistry. She completed her degree in just three years while also graduating from the college’s honors program.
During her time at St. Norbert, Etten demonstrated exceptional leadership and service. She served as concertmaster of the string orchestra, president of the American Medical Student Association chapter and held board positions with the PreHealth Club and Colleges Against Cancer. She was also active in the Biology Honors Club and Omicron Delta Kappa leadership honors society, and spent three years serving on the state-level National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Youth Advisory Council.
Etten is no stranger to SAM25. Since July 2025, she has volunteered at the SAM25 Free Health Clinic as a nursing assistant. In addition, she continues to work as a certified nursing assistant and medication technician at a memory care facility, a role she has held since 2023.
A lifelong Shawano resident and 2023 graduate of Shawano Community High School, Etten has a long history of community involvement. Her volunteer efforts throughout middle and high school earned her the Shawano Area Youth Volunteer Award. Through college and beyond, she has continued serving communities in Shawano, Green Bay and De Pere.
When she is not working or volunteering, Etten enjoys long-distance running, camping, reading, playing the violin, spending time with family and friends, and caring for her three cats.
SAM25 operates a free health clinic for uninsured and underinsured individuals every Thursday from 4-8 p.m. The organization also offers a free eye clinic on the third Monday of each month from 6-8 p.m., helping area residents access essential healthcare and vision services.
