Reuben H. Erickson, 84, formerly of Bowler, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026, at Evergreen Health Services in Shawano. He was born April 6, 1941, in Tigerton, the son of Carl and Dorothy (Denny) Erickson.
Reuben proudly served in the United States Army from 1967-73. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan who also liked watching westerns. Reuben especially cherished family gatherings and cookouts.
Reuben is survived by his siblings, Diane (John) Cerveny, of Shawano, and Ralph (Cindy) Erickson, of Bowler; sisters-in-law, Grace Erickson, of Kenosha, and Barb Erickson, of Shawano; brother-in-law, Donald Wurth, of Gresham; special friends, Kevin and Sue Meverden; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Reuben was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles, Roger, Herbert, Gary and Andy (Pam) Erickson; sisters, Jean Behnke and Karen Wurth; and special friend, Carol Meverden.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Schmidt and Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. Clifford Kessen will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Military rites will follow the funeral service in the funeral home parking lot.
