The fourth-seeded Red Raiders (of Pulaski) fell to the top seed Red Raiders of Wauwatosa East 2-0 in the Division 2 state semifinal soccer game Nov. 5.
Tosa East midfielder Luke Gendrich opened the scoring with a goal in the 14th minute. Jackson Sadowski had the assist on a ball he crossed in from a free kick. Gendrich doubled the lead for Tosa East with his second goal in the 35th minute.
Freshman midfielder Max Mondloch came close to finding the net in the second half for Pulaski, but his shot was saved off the goal line moments before going in by East goalkeeper Andrew Metzger.
Metzger made four saves on goal for Wauwatosa East. Blake Batzer had three saves on goal for Pulaski.
Pulaski’s season comes to an end one game short of the state final with an overall record of 15-7-2.
Pulaski previously appeared in the state tournament in 2014 and 2022 and dropped its opening match each time. The Red Raiders shut out all four of their regional and sectional opponents and survived a sectional final shootout over Fox Valley Lutheran after a scoreless tie to qualify for this year’s state tournament.
