David Young

David Wilbur Young, born May 27, 1955, in Oconto Falls, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, surrounded by loving memories of a life well-lived. A proud father to his son, Cole, and a cherished grandfather to Samantha, John and Millie, Dave always made time for his family and was always there when needed. Dave graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1973 before serving in the Coast Guard from 1974-76.

Rodney Sleeter
On July 3, 2025, Rodney Arthur Sleeter, 75, lost his battle with heart disease. He passed away at home surrounded by his family. Rod was born April 11, 1950, to the late Harold and Martha (McMahon) Sleeter. When he was 19, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his four years at the SAC base in Merced, California, during the Vietnam Era.
John and Katherine Ford
Jon R., 63, and Katherine L. “Kathy” Ford, 64, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in Alaska. A memorial Mass for Jon and Kathy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. The Rev. Edward Looney will be the celebrant. Burial will take place at Lake Drive Cemetery, Town of Wescott. Visitation will begin on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 4-7 p.m.
Sherrie Framness
Sherrie Lynn Anderson-Framness, 75, of Marshfield, passed peacefully into Jesus’ presence on July 1, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center, with her family by her side. Born April 20, 1950, in Oconto Falls, Sherrie was the daughter of Ralph and Cora (Witzke) Anderson.
Vernon V. Miller
Vernon V. Miller, 81, of Gillett, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025. Vern was born Oct. 17, 1943, to the late Bernhard and Agnes (Dumke) Miller in the family house in Gillett. He lived on his property his entire life. Vern married Sandra Zittlow on Sept. 21, 1968, and together they raised four daughters. For many years, Vern worked as a painter. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Rosemary ‘Rosie’ Young
Rosemary “Rosie” Young, 82, Shawano, died Thursday morning, July 3, 2025, at home. She was born May 13, 1943, in Oconto Falls to Ervin and Stella (Smits) Heaney. Rosemary attended Degantown Grade School and graduated Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1961. Following graduation, she worked at the shoe factory in Pulaski. In April of 1964, she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam War.
