Terris D. Umentum

Terris “Terry” Umentum, 76, Oconto Falls, died Wednesday evening, Aug. 10, 2022, at a Green Bay hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born April 11, 1946, to Emanuel “Chick” and Fern (Jensen) Umentum. Terry grew up in Oconto Falls and attended public schools, graduating from Oconto Falls High School with the Class of 1964. Following graduation, he attended UW-River Falls and worked for Jim Schaub Construction and Midland Co-op.
Roy E. Ganzel
Roy E. Ganzel, Sarasota, Florida, and Shawano, 95, departed this earth for his heavenly home on Aug. 11, 2022, at Theda Care, Appleton, after a brief illness. He was born on Aug. 2, 1927, to the late Edward and Leone Ganzel in Seymour. As a young boy growing up, he came from the “old school” one room and one teacher, for all eight grades. He worked on the family dairy farm and his father’s construction company.
William “Bill” Grant Gleason
William Grant “Bill” Gleason, 86, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, at his home. He was born Nov. 13, 1935, to the late Adelbert and Mellisina (Wivell) Gleason in Hibbing, Minnesota. After high school, Bill enlisted in the United States Army and served his country for 7½ years in Germany, England and Korea. On Jan. 20, 1975, Bill was united in marriage to Yvonne Welch in South Dakota.
Mary Ann Baldwin
Mary Ann Baldwin, 75, of Madison, peacefully passed away on Aug. 3, 2022, at The Kathy Hospice, with her family by her side. Mary was born to the late Roy and Mabel Rades, Nov. 1, 1946, in Shawano. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1965. She was immensely proud to have received her bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University in 1996 at the age of 49.
Gerald W. Pagenkopf
Gerald W. Pagenkopf, 74, of Green Valley, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, with family by his side. Gerald was born on Nov. 26, 1947, to the late Arthur and Alvina (Hintz) Pagenkopf in Oconto Falls. He spent his childhood on the family farm, attended Grandview Elementary School, and graduated from Gillett High School in 1965. Gerald enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1967 and was stationed at Naval Station Pearl Harbor until 1971.
Grace C. Lamers
Grace C. Lamers, 89, of Wittenberg, died on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, at the home of her daughter, under the care of her family and Compassus Hospice. Grace was born Feb. 22, 1933, in the Town of Addison, the daughter of John and Magdalena (Hefter) Hug. On Nov. 26, 1955, Grace was united in marriage to Vincent Lamers in Nenno. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1987. Grace and Vincent enjoyed traveling and went on several trips together.
Helen A. Birr
Helen A. Birr, 89, Oconto Falls, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022, at a local hospital. The daughter of John and Helen (Kulick) Tajak was born March 16, 1933, in Sobieski. On Aug. 31, 1957, Helen married Donald Birr at St. Casimir Church in Krakow. Helen worked at Northern Shoe in Pulaski for 12 years and farmed in the Town of Morgan with Donald for over 30 years. She was a member of St.
