David Raymond Skenandore, 57, of Milwaukee, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, in Milwaukee. Born on Dec. 27, 1955, in Milwaukee, he was the son of Evelyn (Metoxen) Skenandore and the late Walter R. Skenandore. On March 6, 1981, he was united in marriage to Geraldine LaFainer in Milwaukee. David worked as a crane operator for a construction company.

A state appeals court has ruled a 13-year-old Shawano County boy must register as a sex offender following his conviction in juvenile court for assaulting a girl he was baby-sitting. But since the boy was convicted in juvenile court of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl, his identity and whereabouts may never be known. Shawano County and the Menominee Tribe plan to ask the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for an exception to the state highway standards for an area intersection. The exception would apply to the proposed realignment of the state Highway 47 and County Road G intersection. Chapter 75 of the state’s transportation rules requires sidewalks and bike paths to be included with all new highway construction or reconstruction.

A Keshena man pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in Green Bay to sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl earlier this year. According to the plea agreement filed in court: Jacob J. Zhuckkahosee, 20, told FBI investigators that he went to a friend’s residence on the Menominee Indian Reservation on the day of the assault and got high on synthetic marijuana.

Starting this fall, Community Memorial Hospital will be part of a national pilot project for small, rural hospitals focusing on transfers from the emergency department. The project is supported by MetaStar and funded through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The Office of Rural Health is also working in partnership on this effort.
