Investigators have not yet determined the cause of a fire that destroyed a large old barn at N8959 U.S. Highway 45, about three miles south of Clintonville, on Monday afternoon. The barn was owned by Theresa and Chris Gilling. Theresa Gilling said there was no electricity to the barn, which was being used for storage.

Osborne Peter Crowe, 80, of Neopit, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at the Appleton Medical Center. Osborne was born May 25, 1933, in Keshena, the son of David Crowe and Alice Makimatas. Diane R. Kast, 72, of Shawano, passed away peacefully late Saturday evening, Dec. 28, 2013, at her home, following a lengthy illness. Diane was born July 19, 1941, in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Daniel G. and Ruth (Steffen) Meyer. Alfred L. Siolka, 85, of Bonduel, passed away on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at a local nursing home. Born on Nov. 9, 1928, in Maple Grove, he was the son of the late Frank and Victoria (Pochron) Siolka. In his younger years, Al worked for the canning factory, toy factory and at the bowling alley in Pulaski.
