The Shawano Community High School baseball team will open on the road after getting a No. 10 seed in the WIAA Division 1 baseball tournament this week. The Hawks will open against No. 7 Pulaski on June 3. The winner will face No. 2 Ashwaubenon on June 5. Division 2 Clintonville earned a No. 3 seed in its Division 2 regional and will host No. 6 Oconto Falls on June 3 at Olen Park. The winner will advance to face No.

The Shawano Speedway will hold its second annual Ladies Night on Saturday. The first 500 ladies get in free. Obviously, the idea is to help get more women out to the track and involved in racing. Truth be told, though, many women do have a big role in racing. It was, years ago, a rarity to have a woman wheeling a race car. Currently, though, Jordan Bartz is one of the top guns in the IMCA Sport Mod class.
