Edward “Eddie” F. Wehmeyer, son of Clarence and Nina Wehmeyer, peacefully passed from this world to glory at 4:19 p.m., Aug. 4, 2015. In his youth, Eddie achieved the rank of Eagle Scout by painting the fire house. He began his professional career at the Ford North Chicago stamping plant where he was trusted with inspection of final assembly and quality control. He was a self-made man, a skilled entrepreneur.

Thomas J. “Tom” Bartels, 70, of Shawano, passed away Aug. 4, 2015. A funeral Mass for Tom will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. The Rev. Luke Ferris will be the celebrant. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 9 a.m.

Assault — Police investigated an assault complaint in the 800 block of East Richmond Street. Theft — A cell phone was reported stolen at the Shawano Recreation Center, 220 E.

Authorities responded to five injury accidents Wednesday, though none of the injuries were life threatening, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department. The most serious crash resulted in a 65-year-old Two Rivers woman being transported to Shawano Medical Center. That one occurred on state Highway 29 in the Thornton area at about 2:45 p.m.

Onalee Siegfried may only be an incoming sophomore, but she already has three United States Track and Field Junior Olympic appearances under her belt, and could get better, if history is any indication.
