Authorities responded to five injury accidents Wednesday, though none of the injuries were life threatening, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department.
The most serious crash resulted in a 65-year-old Two Rivers woman being transported to Shawano Medical Center. That one occurred on state Highway 29 in the Thornton area at about 2:45 p.m. and closed down eastbound traffic for about 45 minutes.
A 47-year-old Neenah man tried to change lanes and failed to see the woman’s vehicle, authorities said. There was no contact between the vehicles, but the woman lost control and the vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest in a ditch.
Authorities also responded to a two-vehicle injury accident on Highway 29 at state Highway 156 in Maple Grove, which resulted in one person sustaining a broken arm; a two-vehicle crash on state Highway 22 in Belle Plaine in which a party suffered a broken nose; a two-vehicle accident on County Road Q in Wittenberg; and a one-vehicle rollover on County Road U in the town of Herman.
The driver in the rollover said he had been changing the radio station when he lost control. He sustained facial injuries and a dislocated shoulder, but was not transported to the hospital.
