Troy Krause is returning home – sort of.

Krause, who grew up in Shawano, will be the new superintendent of the Bowler School District effective July 1, according to a news release from the Bowler School Board.

Lena seniors Lucas Heimke and Max Peterson were joined by Gillett/Suring junior Davis Staszak in earning the award.

Earning honorable mention honors were Gillett/Suring freshman Vince Kohls and Lena senior Erik Kosch.

Local 4-H educator Megan Suehring worked with 4-H colleagues recently to provide “Level Up in Life: 4-H Teen Leadership Winter Camp” at Spencer Lake Camp in Waupaca.

Partnering with six additional eastern Wisconsin counties, Suehring and others presented a winter leadership camp experience for 4-H members to learn, grow and lead.

Thomas T. Cota, 88, of Gillett, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026.

Tom was born Dec. 16, 1937, to the late Ted and Mildred (Hohn) Cota in Oconto. He graduated from Gillett High School with the class of 1955 and then served two years in the Army.
