Crawford Center could see expanded use

Shawano County officials and the Shawano Hockey League will continue to explore ways to make the Crawford Center a profitable venue. New criminal justice committee gets go-ahead
An informal gathering of officials regarding the criminal justice system in Shawano County is expected to take on a more formal role in the spring. The Shawano County Public Safety Committee approved the bylaws and resolution March 6 to create the Shawano County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC).

St. Paul’s in Bonduel finishes No. 2 at state tourney

Manure applicator meetings coming up in March
Any farm that applies its own manure on cropland and all custom manure spreading businesses are invited to have their personnel attend the annual manure applicator update meetings. Verna Emmel
Verna Emmel, 85, of Wittenberg, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Benedictine Living Community, Wausau. Verna was born on Feb. 14, 1939, the daughter of Guy and Orva (St. Thomas) Day. On Jan. 5, 1957, Verna was united in marriage to Donald Emmel in Wittenberg. He preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2008. Verna worked in housekeeping at Homme Home of Wittenberg and the Lions Camp in Rosholt.
