State Rep. David Steffen held a listening session in Oconto Falls on May 8 to start getting to know the needs of constituents he gained in the recent redistricting. The maps drawn by Gov. A 5-month-old baby died after being run over by a vehicle at a home May 8 in Bonduel. Multiple crews performed life saving measures on the baby who was eventually air lifted to a hospital in the Green Bay area.

• David A. Corn, 24, Shawano, pleaded no contest May 6 to felony bail jumping, two counts possession of narcotic drugs and two counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Shawano’s Naberhood Plaza has become the happening hotspot for the city’s downtown, but now it has a couple of awards that could make it even more attractive. In early April, the city learned that it was selected as a winner for the American Public Works Association’s 2024 Wisconsin Chapter Project of the Year Award for small cities and rural communities.
