Proceedings of July 19 • Justin A. Biersteker, 43, Little Suamico, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that occurred Nov. 19. • Johnny L. Kinney, 30, a Neopit man serving time at Green Bay Correctional Institution, pleaded no contest July 15 to felony bail jumping and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Judge Katherine Sloma levied court fees and assessments of $1,222 and sentenced him to 180 days in jail, concurrent with his current sentence. • Jerry L.

Cecil 7, Bonduel 5 The Cecil Mudhens trailed by four runs after the first inning but fought back to top the Bonduel Broncos 7-5 on July 21 at Joe Peterman Memorial Field. Kenny Casper collected three hits in five at bats in the win.

Cora M. Rotter-Boerst
Cora M. Rotter-Boerst, 91, of Gillett, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024. Cora was born on Sept. 3, 1932, to the late Robert and Bernice (Scutt) Jewell. Her great-grandfather, Rodney Gillette, named the city of Gillett. She graduated with the class of 1950 from Gillett High School. In April 1952, Cora married William Rotter at Tabor United Methodist Church in Gillett. The couple raised four children, Larry, Patricia, Dale and Ron.

Joan Inez (Melendes) Houska, 86, of Oconto Falls, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024, with family by her side. Joan was born on Aug. 25, 1937, to the late Alex and Jinx (Palmer) Melendes. She married Kenneth Houska at Hickory United Methodist Church on June 24, 1972. She worked for Liquid Carbonic, Rosner Insurance and retired from the U.S.

Verna Irene Weisnicht, 88, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in Shawano. Verna was born on Oct. 11, 1935, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, daughter of the late Oscar and Eleanor (Brutlag) Schultz. On Sept. 15, 1951, she was united in marriage to Melvin Weisnicht in Shawano.

Yvonne M. Kirchenwitz
Yvonne Kirchenwitz, 88, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Yvonne was born in the Town of Morgan, Oconto County, on Sept. 4, 1935, daughter of the late Lebrecht and Grace (Pellow) Olderman. Yvonne grew up in the Gillett area and graduated from Gillett High School with the class of 1953. On Aug. 2, 1955, she was united in marriage to Harvey Kirchenwitz in Oconto.
