Law enforcement trains in responding to mental illness calls

Oat harvest ahead of schedule this year
Wisconsin had 4.8 days suitable for fieldwork statewide for the week ending Aug. 18, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Rainfall later in the week limited an otherwise productive week. Field activities included harvesting small grains, potatoes and cutting hay. Topsoil moisture condition rated 1% very short, 6% short, 81% adequate and 12% surplus.

Lila Postler
Lila Irene Postler, 83, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill. She was born Feb. 19, 1941, in Shawano to the late Albert and Irene (Montoure) Shroeder. She met the love of her life, Perry Postler, at a dance in Tilleda. They married Oct. 15, 1960, at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church in Shawano, treasuring 60 years of marriage.
