Eggert is medalist at home meet

Bay Conference Mini-Meet #3 Aug. 22 Sophia Eggert tied as the medalist with a 43 as Shawano won the Bay Conference Mini-Meet #4 at Shawano Lake Golf Course on Aug. 22. The Hawks shot a 190, while Bonduel carded a 256 for seventh place. Also scoring for Shawano were Lily Glysch with a 45, Madilyn Moesch with a 47 and Delanie Kunze with a 55. Bonduel was led by Morgan Staszak’s 59.

Shawano County may borrow to balance budget
Shawano County department heads have been told to trim 5% of their proposed 2025 budget or face the wrath of the county’s executive committee. That was the decision of the committee when it gathered Aug.
School board bumps paraprofessional sub pay
The Shawano School Board voted Aug. 21 to give a pay bump to substitutes serving as non-teaching staff, even though some board members felt the bump wasn’t really enough. Teachers on Call presented to the board on Aug. 12, and in that presentation, they noted the disparity in pay for aides and paraprofessionals.

Green Bay Preble Invite Aug. 22-23 Shawano tennis wrapped up a big week in Green Bay with the Preble Invite on Aug. 22-23. Rachael Carroll led the Hawks at No. 2 singles with a 4-0 performance for the two-day tournament. The tennis players played competitive matches but were unable to come up with the team win.
