The Suring School Board might ask voters in April to OK funds to sustain a school system where budget deficits have reached half a million dollars. Falls utilities manager placed on leave
Chuck Grady, manager of Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities for over 10 years, was placed on paid administrative leave on Oct. 3, following an emergency meeting of the Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities Commissions. Grady was hired by the city in April 1977 and served as a city employee for more than 37 years.
Suring preparing for first pitch
Improvements at ball fields in How and Breed are off to a promising start this fall, in preparation for the first high school softball and baseball games scheduled next spring for the Gillett-Suring co-op programs. Winds of change are swirling
Those who travel the path around the Falls know there are a variety of hints of a coming change in the season, and many were in the air this weekend. The first may have been the nail-biting finish to the Green Bay Packers game in Miami. Many shots showed the glistening skin or wet hair of the players who played under temperatures that bumped up against the 90-degree mark.
Suring fundraiser to feature dance band
The Suring High School Music Department will hold its Fall Festival fundraiser from 6-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, in the Suring High School gym. Admission is $5. Tickets are available from high school music students and at the door. The Swing City Dance Band, a semiprofessional 17-piece swing/dance band, will perform from 7-8:30 p.m.
