Raji helps anchor Packers’ run defense

Overtime victory ensures playoff berth for Bears
Bonduel High School senior quarterback Trevor Pedersen rolled to his right and found a hole in the defense for a 3-yard rushing touchdown, the game-winning score in a 33-30 overtime victory at Shiocton on Friday. Shiocton took a 30-27 lead on the first possession of overtime as junior Jake Godin kicked a 23-yard field goal. On Bonduel’s first offense play in OT, Preston Robaidek took a handoff for 22 yards, to the 3-yard line.

City enforcing ordinances covering quality of life

Shawano police to hold badge ceremony for new officers
The Shawano Police Department will hold a “pinning” ceremony Monday to formally pin the badges on its three most recent hires, even though the officers have been with the department for several months. Police Chief Mark Kohl said training schedules and other time conflicts delayed pinning ceremonies for the officers until now. The ceremony for officers Tony Escalante, Heidi Cartwright and Brent Dilge will be held at 5 p.m.

CMN nursing program maintains accreditation
The fall semester is off to a good start for the nursing program at the College of Menominee Nation. CMN President Verna Fowler announced this month that accreditation for the associate degree program in nursing has been renewed by the Accreditation Commission on Education in Nursing. Arline L. Helms
Arline L. Helms, 91, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at Pine Manor Healthcare Center, Embarrass. The former Arline Lillian Kersten was born on Feb. 16, 1924, on the Hauschultz homestead in the town of Dupont, Waupaca County, to Emil and Olga (Hauschultz) Kersten. She attended the Sunrise School for her elementary education.

Add James Jones to list of Packers’ sore receivers
