Nasal obstruction impacts quality of life

Nasal obstruction is emerging as a significant but often underrecognized factor affecting sleep, exercise tolerance and overall quality of life, according to Dr. Michael Thielman, an ear, nose and throat specialist at Aspirus Health.

Thielman said patients frequently seek care only after years of mouth breathing, poor sleep or chronic throat irritation — symptoms that can be tied directly to impaired nasal airflow.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood hung on to defeat Pacelli 71-69 in a nonconference game.

The Chargers led 32-26 at halftime, but the Cardinals fought back to force a 62-62 tie. Luckily for the Chargers, a few key baskets down the stretch preserved the win.

Hawks hockey team wins season finale

Shawano 9, Rhinelander 1

The Shawano/Bonduel hockey team closed out their regular season with a 9-1 win over Rhinelander and wins in four of their last five games.

Kielian Armbruster and Gavin Hundt each had two goals for the Hawks, and Hundt also had two assists.

The Hawks started out slow, but a late first-half run led to a 39-22 halftime lead. Shawano then put the game away in the second half, winning 77-46.

Leah Nordin had 36 points, and Maci Beyer scored 17 to lead the Hawks.
