Antigo closed out its regular hockey season with a 3-1 loss at home against Milton.

All of the scoring occurred in the third period, with the Red Hawks taking a 3-0 lead before Liam Burt scored unassisted at 11:46 for the Red Robins’ only score.

Eight local teams are sending a combined 13 boys to the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Championships, set for Feb. 26-28 at the Kohl Center in Madison.

That list is expected to grow later this week as several area girls are moving on after placing first or second at their respective regional competitions. They will compete Feb. 20 at a sectional meet at D.C. Everest High School in Weston.

Greg Smurawa and his bakery staff put in extra hours in the days leading up to Lent.

They needed to for Smurawa’s Country Bakery’s annual Paczki Day, otherwise known as Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday.

“We sell them every day of the year, but this is of course our busiest time,” Smurawa said. “We used to fill them by hand, but now we use a machine.”

Shawano County supervisors will get another update on the future plans for a new courthouse, jail and public library when they gather for their next meeting at 3 p.m. Feb. 25 at the courthouse.

Several dozen friends and family members of missing and murdered Menominee Tribe members gathered Feb. 14 to witness the unveiling of a red jingle dress to honor their loved ones.

“We’re holding this event so we can all come together and celebrate our missing family members,” said Alysse Corn, whose mother, Rae Tourtilliot, was murdered nearly 40 years ago.

Her killer has yet to be found.

Four of the jobs — one forestry and three recreation positions — will be based at the U.S. Forest Service’s Lakewood office in Oconto County.

• Bruce G. Cornelius, 39, Neopit, pleaded no contest Oct. 20 to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fifth offense), four counts of felony bail jumping, two misdemeanor charges of operating while revoked and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. Judge Katherine Sloma sentenced him Feb. 9 to three years in prison followed by five years of extended supervision with conditions.

• Ivan Anthony Huff, 28, a Green Bay man serving a sentence at Jackson Correctional Institution in Black River Falls, pleaded no contest Dec. 12 to fleeing an officer in his vehicle. Judge Jay Conley sentenced him Feb. 9 to an additional one year in prison followed by two more years of extended supervision.
