Storm shuts out Appleton United to open playoffs

The sixth-seeded Storm was fierce as Bay Area shut out 11th-seeded Appleton United 12-0 in the opening round of WIAA boys hockey regional play.

Storm players are from several area schools, including Bay Port, Ashwaubenon, Pulaski, Seymour and Wrightstown. They improved to 10-12-1 with the playoff win.

Marlin ‘Marty’ Warden

Marlin “Marty” Warden, 74, of Suring, passed away peacefully at home Monday, Feb. 16, 2026.

Marty was born Nov. 23, 1951, to the late Dick and Mary Warden in Sheboygan. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School with the class of 1970. Marty began working for Shawano County as a deputy sheriff in 1974. On June 14, 1975, Marty married Rosemary Behringer. The couple lived in Krakow and started their family.

Keith Wirtz

Keith James Wirtz, 84, Oconto Falls, died Sunday evening, Feb. 15, 2026. He was born April 4, 1941, in Oconto Falls to Chester and Anna (Schindel) Wirtz. He attended area schools and graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1959.
