Lorraine Konkel

Lorraine Emma Pearl Konkel, 100, town of Oconto, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at her daughter’s home. Lorraine was born April 5, 1914, in Milwaukee to the late Emil and Mary (Petry) Prahl. She married John Konkel on April 25, 1931. He preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1976. Lorraine enjoyed fishing and traveling and had just returned from fishing in Florida one week ago. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Stiles. Lorraine is survived by 10 daughters, Theresa DePouw, Oconto, Lorraine Wickman, Green Bay, Rosemary Porath, Oconto, Leona (Robert) Rockteschel, Stiles, Irene (Douglas) Rymer, Stiles, Maryann (Keith) Jenquin, Seymour, Margaret Krumpos, De Pere, JoAnn (Ray) Talbot, Green Bay, Kathleen Wegner, Kimberly, Caroline Konkel, Georgia; four sons, John (Barbara) Konkel, Stiles, Joe (Darlene) Konkel, Stiles, Richard Konkel, Stiles, Michael (JoAnne) Konkel, Abrams; a brother, Kenneth (Joan) Lundberg, Menomonee Falls; and six generations of grandchildren, which includes 47 grandchildren, 97 great-grandchildren, 33 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Lierman; a son, George Konkel; a brother, Carl Prahl; two grandsons, Mike Konkel and James Lierman; and three great-grandchildren, Adam Rymer, Madeline Jenquin and Marissa Jenquin. The family received relatives and friends at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Stiles, from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Joel Sember and the Rev. Patrick Beno co-celebrating.
