Jerome H. Rohde

Jerome Rohde, 92, passed away April 4, 2026, at Oakridge Gardens, Menasha.

He was born Jan. 26, 1934, in Neenah, the son of Howard and Leona (Dingeldein) Rohde. Jerome was a U.S. Army veteran honorably discharged in 1962. He was employed with American Can, Menasha, where he met his wife, Grace Peeters, and the two were married Nov. 15, 1969. They shared 54 years together before her passing in 2023.

Jerome was an avid Packers fan, hunter and outdoorsman who loved animals and sitting on his deck drinking coffee. His greatest joy in life was his wife, Grace, and any time he spent with her was memorable. They enjoyed traveling together to Alaska and Hawaii. He will be remembered most as being fun, lighthearted and a bit of a jokester.

Jerome is survived by his sister, Janet (Don) Jarchow; a sister-in-law, Janice Rohde; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Jerome was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and siblings, twin Gerald Rohde, Howard (Martha “Sis”) Rohde, Janice Reinert and Sharon (Marvin) Wilson.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the Oshkosh Humane Society or Hope Highway Dog Rescue.

Jerome’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers over the last year, especially Kristen, for their care, compassion and kindness.
