Late-stage colon cancer appearing in younger people

According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death for both men and women in the United States. There are more than 150,000 new cases of colon cancer in the United States, affecting all races and ethnicities. National health organizations now recommend regular colon cancer screenings beginning at age 45.

Sugary drinks linked to heart disease
Those who drink a sugar-sweetened beverage every day may be significantly increasing their risk for heart disease or a stroke, according to a 2020 study reported in the Journal of the American Heart Association. “Sugar has several negative effects on the heart and arteries,” said Dr. Oleg Chebotarev, ThedaCare cardiologist.

College Notes
Milwaukee School of Engineering Jack Stewart, from Hatley, and Grey Tubutis, from Bonduel, were named to the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s dean’s list for the 2023 winter quarter. Stewart is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering.
