LoriLynn (Krausert) Buettner, 48, of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014. She was born Jan. 17, 1966, in Green Bay to Gerald Krausert and the late Lorraine (Chaudoir) Krausert. LoriLynn graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1984 and then went on to school, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree, and in 1996 she earned her Associates Degree in nursing.

Families across the country can be thankful for Minnesota and Wisconsin farmers this holiday season. The Star Tribune reports Minnesota is the top state in the nation for turkey production, while Wisconsin leads in cranberries. The U.S. Agriculture Department estimates Minnesota will have raised 45 million turkeys by the end of 2014, out of 242 million nationwide.

I have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day. I firmly believe that how we think determines how we feel.

Douglas G. Wopshel, 79, of Shawano, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 22, 2014, at the Evergreen Care Center in Shawano, where he had been a resident for the past four years. Doug was born June 8, 1935, in Shawano, a son of the late Benjamin and Lucille (Hartleben) Wopshel. He graduated from Shawano High School.

Lucille A. Watter, 83, of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, in Bonduel. Lucille was born on April 22, 1931 in Shawano County to the late Otto and Emma Strelow. Lucille was united in marriage to Duane Watter in Thiensville on Nov. 15, 1952. They lived most of their married life in Milwaukee. Besides raising her two boys, Lucille worked at A.O. Smith and Square D. After retirement, the couple moved back to Shawano.

Virgil W. Pluger, 88, of Ringle died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Kennedy Park Nursing Home in Schofield. Virgil was born on Aug. 28, 1926, in the town of Herman (Shawano County) to the late Ferdinand and Mayme (Kuhn) Pluger. He married Dorothy Robinson on Nov. 18, 1944, in Shawano. She preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 2014. Virgil proudly served his country in the U.S.

Betty Mae Noack, 82, of Black Creek, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 at her home, with her family at her side. She was born Oct. 3, 1932, daughter of the late William and Esther (Erdmann) Maas. On Oct. 21, 1950, she was united in marriage to Earl Noack at the Black Creek United Church of Christ. He preceded her in death Dec.

Walter J. Maass, 89, of Shawano, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014. Walter was born in South Milwaukee on Feb. 18, 1925, to the late Rudolph and Emily (Gross) Maass. On March 10, 1945, in California, Walter was united in marriage to Golda Ingram. Walter is a 1949 graduate of UW-Madison and worked for the city of Milwaukee for 36 years as a tax assessor.
