John J. (Jack) Schmidt, 78, of Thornton, passed away Tuesday evening, Dece. 9, 2014, at Shawano Medical Center following a courageous two year battle with pancreatic cancer. Jack was born October 17, 1936 in the town of Herman, Shawano County, a son of the late Raymond and Laura (Ready) Schmidt. He attended the Leopolis Grade School and graduated from Marion High School in 1955. Following graduation, Jack delivered milk until he entered the U.S.

Robert W. Doxtator, 63, of Gresham, passed away on Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, in Green Bay. He was born in Algoma on April 18, 1951, the son of the late Benjamin and Bessie (Davids) Doxtator. Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force and is a member of the Mohican Veterans. On Dec. 22, 1990, in Waukesha, Robert was united in marriage to Debra Olejniczak, and they made Gresham their home in 2001.

The Shawano Common Council adopted the first complete overhaul of its zoning code in more than 30 years on Wednesday, along with a new zoning map, both of which will go into effect on Jan.
