Matthews learning nuances of inside linebacker
Clay Matthews is getting a refresher course at Green Bay Packers training camp. It has nothing to do with rushing the quarterback. The long-haired linebacker is ticketed for major minutes again playing on the inside of the Packers defense. Now, Matthews gets to go through a full training camp to help pick up the nuances of a position that he only started playing in the middle of last season. “That’s my duty. I’m playing inside.

Grignon, Patriots knock out Beaver Dam
Beaver Dam opted to avoid Chase Henning after he pounded out his third hit Friday— but forgot about Tasa Grignon. Location chosen for offender housing
A new location in Shawano has apparently been found for a temporary placement facility for released felons, including convicted sex offenders, though the state Department of Corrections said Friday that nothing is official. A DOC representative appeared before the city’s sexual predator ordinance committee on July 22 to report that Matt Talbot Recovery Services has found a location for a six-bed facility at 118 S.
Anticipation builds for results of X-ray
The chorus of the old Carly Simon song is running through my head on this July 28, because I am in “Anticipation” of what the X-ray of my foot will reveal at tomorrow’s doctor’s appointment. Four weeks ago, he said at the next visit they might get me up and walking, sort of, if the X-rays showed enough healing has taken place. I know that I, for one, am ready to shuck this cast for good. It seems to be like having a ball and chain attached.
Directionally challenged
Occasionally my husband has me run for parts. I always make a fuss before I go because inevitably the parts guys ask me, “Is this for the left- or right-hand side?” or “Did he want bolts and washers to go with that?” or “What size does he need?” They might as well be speaking French.
